ABOUT
I’m Amber, I graduated with a first class degree in Textile Design, specialising in print from Nottingham Trent University. I took a placement year to gain experience, it taught me how to design in a commercial manor keeping an eye on the end use of the product.

My final major project: BEAM ME UP! took inspiration from natural imagery, juxtaposed with geometric architecture and prints from a mix of different eras. Beam Me Up, is a luxurious interiors collection, designed to provide escape from the mundane through large scale pattern in a maximalist style, with a substantial influence of surrealism. The designs are bought to life through immense detail in the process of hand drawing and other illustrative techniques.

IDOTT 2020 - Masterpiece prize, awarded by the sitting president of IGI (International Wallpaper Manufacturers Association).

PREMIERE VISION NEXT GEN AWARD- print for interiors- NTU BA (Hons) Course Winner.
EXPERIENCE
KIT MILES STUDIO (2 months placement and 4 months employment)
I gained hands on experience of looking after the company in an array of ways. The business side: creating invoices, liaising with interior designers, being part of the sales team for both Chelsea Harbour design week and Decorex. I also participated in creative aspects: creating visuals for the upcoming collection, drawing and editing on Photoshop to devise new artwork.

ATKIN AND THYME (Freelance)
Currently developing upholstery designs for armchairs and footstools, working closely with the team to ensure the designs reflect the brands signature.

HUMBUG DESIGN (2 months placement)
My placement consisted of trend research and designing to specific briefs created by clients for instance: Anthropology, Whistles and Oliver Bonas. My work here consisted of designing prints, weaves, knits and embroidery for given accessories and clothing garments.

WHISTON AND WRIGHT (2 months placement and 2 months employment)
Working as one of the design team in the print studio, responding to current trends; where I sold a variety of prints in shows like Premiere Vision and meetings with clients.
